Lori's Take: Head Coach Adam Shackleford summed up the Shock defense perfectly when he said, “Our defense is absolutely relentless,” after last week's 88-27 win over the Stockton Lightning. I believe his defense is the key to keeping the Shock's perfect record alive. A win tonight against the Tri-Cities Fever will give the Shock their fourth straight Western Division Championship. It doesn't matter that the Fever's record is 1-10; the Shock need to continue to play relentlessly. The Shock offense scored in less than two-minutes of play when QB Nick Davila connected with WR Andy Olson for a 20-yard touchdown reception. The Shock defense forced Tri-Cities to turn the ball over on downs, allowing for another Shock score. This time, Davila connected with OL John Booker for a 7-yard touchdown pass. The defense held the Fever scoreless in the first quarter. Davila hit WR Markee White for a 14-yard touchdown reception to end the first quarter 21-0.The second quarter started out beautifully for the Shock. Kicker Brian Jackson's kick to Fever's KR Emery Beckles bounced off the goal posts and was recovered by Shock's DB Damon Jenkins. The Shock took possession and Davila connected with White for a 3-yard touchdown. And the same happened a second time for poor Beckles on the very next kick to the Fever. This time it was a fumble recovery by Shock's WR Markee White in the end zone for a touchdown. The new dynamic duo of Davila and White scored again with a 6-yard touchdown pass. The Shock defense continued to hold the Fever scoreless, ending the first half 42–0. The Fever changed QBs in the second half, with Colin Drafts stepping in for Tomotsuna Inoue. The switch worked as Drafts did connect with WR Emery Beckles for the Fever's first and second scores of the night. The Shock did some QB switching as well, giving the opportunity for QB Casey Hansen to play. Hansen connected with WR Andy Olson for a 9-yard touchdown pass, the only score for the Shock in the third quarter. The Fever scored a third touchdown in the last seconds of the quarter, the score 49-19. Hansen hit Raul “The Thrill” Vijil three times in the fourth quarter. The first, a 42-yard touchdown reception; the second for 26-yards. LB Kevin McCullough's interception led to Vijil's third touchdown of the night, this time a 25-yard reception from Hansen. The Shock defense held the Fever to a mere field goal in the fourth quarter. Spokane Shock's perfect season continues, improving their record to 11-0. "Hansen did a remarkable job tonight. It's good to know we have him there waiting", commented Shock head coach Shackleford.
