SPOKANE, WA - On rally towel giveaway night, it was only fitting that the Indians rally from a 6-1 deficit to win in an error filled extra innings game 9-8 against the Everett AquaSox.

What started out looking like Everett was going to cruise to victory, then momentum shifted in the fourth inning. With Spokane second baseman Kevin Rodland on first base, left fielder Jared Hoying hit a ball that caused two Everett outfielders to collide, moving Rodland to third base and Hoying to second. A throwing error by Everett third baseman Kevin Mailloux on a sharply hit ball by right fielder Yefry Castillo allowed Rodland to score. Catcher Kevin Torres singled in Hoying. Castillo was able to score on another single by centerfielder Ryan Strausborger. The scoring ended when Torres scored on third baseman Daniel Lima's single through the infield.

In the fifth inning, with the score 7-5, Spokane started another rally that saw them score three runs on two doubles, a hit batter, and two sacrifice flies to make it 8-7.

Everett tied it at eight in the sixth when Mailloux walked, then was able to advance on a wild pitch. He scored when outfielder Kevin Rivers, hit a single to right field. Rivers hit also extended his league leading hitting streak to 13.

The Indians had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the ninth, with no outs and two guys on base, but Everett's Stephen Pryor closed the door on three straight Indians hitters. Spokane pitcher Ben Henry closed down the AquaSox dangerous 3-4-5 hitters in the top half of the tenth.

In the bottom half of the tenth inning Everett turned to pitcher Jason Markovitz, but that proved to be costly for the AquaSox. Markovitz walked Castillo, which allowed third baseman Michael Olt to pitch hit for Torres. Olt hit a line drive double off the right field wall on the first pitch, moving Castillo to third. Markovitz then attempted to intentionally walk Strausborger, but throw a wild pitch allowing Castillo to score the winning run.

The Indians are on the road tomorrow night as they take on the Dust Devils for three games in the Tri-Cities.
