SPOKANE, WA - Last time the Indians and Canadians played, Vancouver's pitchers got the best of the Indian's hitters. Today the Indians found their groove, rallying from a 2-0 hole, to score seven runs on 10 hits to best the Canadians pitchers 7-2 in front of a crowd of 4,457.
Indians starting pitcher Chad Bell had another strong outing, striking out six hitters in five innings. Relief pitcher Ryan Rodebaugh recorded his second win of the season with two strong innings in relief and has ten consecutive scoreless innings dating back to the start of the season.
The Indians scored again in the sixth inning when catcher Brett Nicholas hit a sharp line drive through the first baseman's glove. Third baseman Michael Olt beat the throw to the plate to score, giving the Indians a 3-2 advantage.
Second baseman Daniel Lima came up with two timely hits this evening. The first, a double in the fifth, led to the Indians first run of the game. The second, a single in the eighth that scored short stop Jurickson Profar, giving the Indians a 4-2 lead. The Indians would go on to score three more runs in the eighth inning off of designated hitter Clark Murphy's double to center field.
